1,350 specialists from 60 Russian regions participated in the largest annual forum. The program was very eventful – the election of the new President of the RLA and members of its Board for the years 2017-2020 took place, important regulatory documents (in particular, “Guide to Local History Activities of Central Libraries of Subjects of the Russian Federation”, new edition, etc.) were accepted, exhibitions of publishing products, new information technologies, goods and services were held. More than 30 sections and round tables of the RLA took three days, but, unfortunately, it was possible to attend only some of them, because all of them ran simultaneously in different institutions of the city – libraries (regional, municipal, university), museums and even outside the city – in the municipal library of the village Ovsyanki (the birthplace of V. Astafiev). The main attention was paid to the sections of the central libraries of the regions of the Russian Federation, public libraries, “Local Studies in Modern Libraries” and reading.

Within the framework of the Congress, professional tours, excursions, a wonderful cultural program with visits to museums, theaters, concert venues of Krasnoyarsk were organized.

Professional reports, a huge amount of ideas, new forms of events and resources, a lot of projects, live informal communication, exchange of experience and the creative, motivating, intellectually rich atmosphere of the congress left an indelible impression, energized and undoubtedly will serve as an impulse and starting point for the development and implementation of innovations in the further work of the country’s libraries. Many ideas will find their application in the National Library of the Chuvash Republic.

More details on the work of the congress can be found on the RLA website and in the Facebook group «Конгресс РБА в Красноярске #РБА2017».
