On December 5, the National Library of the Chuvash Republic celebrated the 115th anniversary of the outstanding playwright, actor, director Nikolai Aizman.
Figures of science, education, culture and art took part in the work of the round table, organized jointly with the Chuvash State Institute of the Humanities.
The leading literary scholars of Chuvashia, candidates of philological sciences Irina Kirillova and Vera Nikiforova spoke about the multifaceted work of Nikolai Aizman, his life path and professional development.
A national Artist of Chuvashia, the Chairman of the Union of Theatre Workers of the Chuvash Republic Gennady Medvedev expressed admiration for the amazing talent of the master of stage, versatility and activity of Nikolai Aizman. He is the author of more than 60 plays, the director of more than 30 performances, and as an artist he has embodied more than a hundred different images on the stage.
A writer, a journalist Arseny Tarasov and a candidate of pedagogical sciences Julia Dmitrieva also shared their thoughts on the role of Nikolai Aizman, the significance of his work in Chuvash literature and art, and the peculiarities of the playwright’s artistic world.
Video fragments of the plays of Nikolai Aizman, performed by the artists of the Chuvash State Academic Drama Theater named after K.V. Ivanova were demonstrated during the event.
At the end of the event, the participants highly appreciated the contribution of Nikolai Aizman to the development of literature and culture, noted the need of a deeper study of the work of the classic of Chuvash drama.
