On January 24, the National Library of the Chuvash Republic in a close circle of friends and readers celebrated its 149th day of foundation.
The director of the library, writers, journalists, professors, artists, honored workers of culture and education of Chuvashia, librarians and readers were the participants of the warm conversation at the round table.
The main topic of conversation was the program of the Republican Reader’s Events Marathon «Chuvashia – the land of one hundred thousand words», developed by the library specialists especially for the 100th anniversary of the Chuvash Autonomous Region. Events of the marathon through the book and reading will help to attract and engage a wide range of readers to the anniversary events. Colleagues from the Republican Children and Youth Library and the Association of Libraries of Cheboksary, municipal libraries of cities and regions of the republic also joined the marathon.
Already today, advanced users of the social networks VKontakte, Instagram, and others can join the reading relay race «#Read Chuvashia». The terms of the competition are simple – take a photo or video with a book or any other source of information about Chuvashia, publish a post with a recommendation and hashtag #ReadChuvashia, help to spread the relay by marking 3 subscribers or friends in the post. The action will last until September 30. All participants will receive a certificate and a lot of positive emotions.
All guests supported the initiative of the National Library to hold Reading Days in all public libraries of Chuvashia. Every third Saturday of the month, citizens of the republic can come to the library to spend their leisure time with benefit: take part in creative evenings, book presentations, concerts, meetings with writers, competitions, intellectual games, creative master classes. Much attention will be paid to the development of family reading. Platforms for Reading days can also be squares, parks, shopping centers.
In February, on the portal «Literary palette of Chuvashia», a readership referendum «Literary Chuvashia: the most readable book of the century» will start. 200 literary and artistic works are presented on a bilingual portal: 126 works in the Chuvash language and 74 translations into Russian. Starting from 2020, not only texts, but also audio recordings of works sounded by prominent artists of the Chuvash Republic will be presented on the Literary Palette of Chuvashia portal. On the site, readers will be able to vote for the book, which, in their opinion, deserves the title «Book of the Century», as well as leave their reviews and book reviews. According to the results of the referendum, not only the most readable, most popular book will be determined, but also the most reading region, the best review of the book, etc. As a part of the referendum, meetings with writers, reading events, open lessons, exhibitions, literary evenings and debates will be held in the libraries of Chuvashia.
The literary contest named after Konstantin Ivanov, which will be held as a part of the All-Russian festival with international participation «Colors of Chuvashia 2020», will help to realize the creative potential of children and youth. Own works and videos of reading literary works of various authors about the Chuvash Republic and the Chuvash people in Chuvash and Russian languages are accepted. The competition is held in three categories: «Poetry», «Prose», «Declamation» in different age categories.
From February 3 to 8 the week of science «Science of Chuvashia in faces» will be in spotlight. Meetings with famous scientists from various fields of science, book presentations and information days will be held at the National Library and at other places of the republic.
A spiritual book, mainly Orthodox, the reader’s interest to which is only growing, will not be left without attention.
In March 9-14, the republican action «One day of the Orthodox book» will be held in the libraries of Chuvashia. In all libraries of the republic, book exhibitions will be organized that reveal gospel truths; electronic presentations will be held dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Fedorov, who marked the beginning of the development of the great printing business in Russia; historical and literary quizzes, master classes in writing letters of the Old Slavic alphabet. The main event of the upcoming action will be a creative meeting of the Nizhny Novgorod writer, the member of the Union of Writers of Russia, Orthodox writer Vladimir Chugunov.
The Republican game on the history of Chuvashia «What? Where? When? » will undoubtedly attract fans of intellectual battles. On April 24, teams of experts will have to answer questions related to the history, ethnography, material and spiritual culture of the Chuvash people. Materials that will be published in the group «Something interesting about Chuvash» and the official group of the National Library «Vkontakte» will help to prepare for the game. On the same day, on the website of the National Library, everyone will be able to test his knowledge by passing tests online.
On May 3, the republican campaign «Running Book» will be organized. During the action, 100 books about Chuvashia will hit the road along the constructed route and cover 100 settlements of the republic, in which meetings with interesting people, creative workshops, concerts and other celebrations will be held.
A vivid event of September will be the Word Reading Championship «Slovo = Sӑmakh». Everyone can take part in an exciting competition in unprepared reading books aloud. The jury members, including well-known figures of culture and art, will appreciate the skill and artistry of the participants and determine the best reader of 2020.
