The international action «The world reads Aigi», held by the National Library of the Chuvash Republic, has come to an end. It was included in the list of activities of the project «Gennady Aigi as a regional cultural brand: on the 85th birthday of the national poet of Chuvashia G.N. Aigi»- the winner of the grant competition of the Head of the Chuvash Republic to support innovative projects in the field of culture and art.
The action was attended by more than 200 people from 11 countries (China, Italy, Sweden, France, Finland, Slovakia, Germany, Turkey, Romania, Ukraine), 12 regions of Russia (Republic of Adygea, Kabardino-Balkaria, Tatarstan, Chuvashia; cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Kirov, Nizhny Novgorod, Ulyanovsk, Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk and other regions. Poems by Gennady Aigi performed by relatives and friends of the poet, his translators, friends and readers were recited in Italian, French, Chinese, Romanian, Turkish, Japanese, German, Balkar, Finnish, Russian, Chuvash and other languages.
The most active were Batyrevsky, Morgaushsky, Urmarsky, Cheboksary, Alikovsky districts, cities-Kanash, Cheboksary.
The most popular works were the poems written in Russian language- «Departure», «The Way», «Here», written in Chuvash language – «Why a person is born» («Ҫын мӗскершӗн ҫуралать»), «Mother» («Анне»), «Why are you silent» … («Мӗскершӗн, мӗншӗн эсӗ сас хурасӑр…»).
Translations of G. Aigi’s poems from Chuvash into Russian and Swedish, as well as translations by the poet from Tatar and French into Chuvash, were read. In general, the «Chuvash Aigi» is represented in the action very powerfully and in different genres, all the poems were chosen with love and were read with great pleasure.
The amazing sincerity and creative reading of all participants was noted. Someone prepared a practically finished film or a kind of video clip put on poetry. Readers, united in groups and created whole performances based on G. Aygi’s poems using music, plastic movement and reading, presented a very special form. (Ajgi_Gedicht mit Gesang, Trier (Germany) and «What except the blizzard» performed by Nadezhda Panfilova(Chuvashia).
A lot of talented, caring people took part in the action! We are grateful to all of them.
Of course, not all recordings will be included in the film entirely, but they can already be viewed on the Youtube channel of the National Library of the Chuvash Republic, and many authors have posted them on their pages in social networks, in the groups “On the 85th anniversary of G.
