On October 15, the lecture “The role of the works of Alexander Artemyev in the patriotic education of youth”, dedicated to the 95th birthday of the national writer of Chuvashia, the author of the legendary story “Salambi”, was held at the National Library of the Chuvash Republic.
University and college students, relatives, friends and readers participated in the meeting.
The lecturers were scientists, literary scholars, writers. The honored teacher of the Chuvash Republic Geronty Nikiforov in his speech paid attention to the peculiarity of the artistic language of the novel “Altӑr Ultӑr” (The great bear). A. Artemyev, candidate of philological sciences Nikolay Osipov conducted an analysis of the novel “Simӗs yltӑn” (Green Gold). The poet Vasily Kerven made a report “The Patriotic Theme in the Works of A. Artemyev”, and also presented the audience a new book by the writer “Pörle tӳsnĕ tantăşsem” (Friends are known in need). The editor-compiler noted that Alexander Artemyev did not stop correcting his works even after their publication.
The leading librarian of the Department of National Literature and Bibliography of the National Library of the Chuvash Republic Olga Timofeeva spoke about electronic resources dedicated to the life and work of Alexander Artemyev, which are located in the Digital Library, on the portals “Cultural Heritage of Chuvashia” and “Literary Palette of Chuvashia: 100 books to read.
The scientific part of the event smoothly turned into an evening of memories. Many warm, sincere words about the front-line writer were said by the national poet of Chuvashia Yuri Semender, literary critic Vasily Pushkin, the daughter of the writer Alexandra Artemyeva.
Participants of the event noted that they learned a lot about the life and work of prose master Alexander Artemyev, widely known in the literary world, and revealed new facets of his talent.
The 4-year students of the faculty of Chuvash and Russian philology of the Chuvash State Pedagogical University named after I. Yakovlev Ekaterina Temyashina and Ekaterina Chugarova presented a presentation about the life and work of the writer.
