The National Library of the Chuvash Republic invites you to visit the exhibition “Gennady Aygi. Poetry is like snow, it always exists”  on the 90th anniversary of the birth of the national poet G. N. Aygi (1934-2006).

The exhibition introduces the best foreign and domestic publications of the poet from the “Aygiana” collection, extensive research literature about his life and work, awards, interesting facts, manuscripts, photographs, musical works (S. Gubaidulina, V. Silvestrov, A. Aygi, and others) and art works (Gunter Yukker, Nikolai Dronnikov, Alexander Maslov, Grigory Molchanov and others) based on the poet’s works. Using the prepared QR codes, it is possible to switch to the electronic resources of the “Gennady Aygi” collection and other materials on the topic.

Documentary films about G. Aygi, recordings of his interviews, little-known footage of his performances at festivals and meetings in Helsinki, Paris, Edinburgh, Moscow and Cheboksary, as well as a gallery of portraits and photographs of the poet are shown non-stop.

Everyone can use the audio guide, participate in the creation of a large canvas of lines from poems by G. Aygi that surprised him, play poetry puzzles, hear the poet’s voice and reading of his works in different languages of the world, read what they liked on camera themselves…

For organized groups, on the background of the exhibition, live lessons “The creative heritage of G. Aygi”, the quest room “The key of Aygi” are organized on request, available including on the Pushkin card (pre-registration is required, tel. 23-02-17, ext. 148, 149).

On February 21, at 18.00, the Constant Memorial Day of G. Aygi will be held at the exhibition with the participation of his family and friends, followers and researchers of creativity, close to the poet in spirit – «aigists».

We invite all those who are interested to the poetic word, admirers and those who are just discovering the work of our famous countryman to the exhibition until April 10 (room № 114).
